The kids have been home all week, driving me and the pets absolutely bonkers. I never thought I’d see it, but the kids actually wore the cat down so hard that she slept on my bed for several hours in like, kitty fetal position. She was out cold! Normally she’d wake up when my camera turns on (it makes a tinkling sound) or when I take pictures of her using “burst”, but when I did it, she just opened her eyes at one point, gave me a dirty look and got comfier. Pics:

Dinner is finished, the dishes are being done. Blake and I ate so much we feel like barfing, although I’m probably the only one who really might. Xmas 2011 was an unmitigated success.

As previously mentioned, Ronny and Alex slept over last night and we all did presents this morning, followed by a big breakfast, Pokemon and eventually, napping. Ronny and Alex didn’t stay the afternoon because Alex’s dad was making turkey dinner at their house so they left about the same time as when I laid down to sleep.

After I woke up, I messed around on Pinterest for a bit and checked my e-mail and then Blake and I went into my office and watched Rise of the Planet of the Apes which I thought was just okay. I wasn’t as blown away by it as some of my friends were. I think I just really hate James Franco and I thought the ending was sloppy. When it was over I was like, “that’s IT?” because it seemed like there should have been more movie at the end. I mean, I guess they tied it up at the end with the epilogue during the credits but I still felt like there should have been more. While we watched the movie, Blake and I made paper snowflakes, which I’m going to use to decorate the living room window. (But we have a lot more to make before I can do that.) During this time, the turkey was cooking.

After the movie, we all kinda went and did our own thing. Wes played his new Phineas and Ferb video game, Blake played his new Star Wars game, Madison coloured with her new Prismacolour pencil crayons (she now has more of them than I do! Brat!) and I ran around taking pictures of things, which I’ll share with you now.

This is No Drought by Lush, which Wes got me. It’s a dry shampoo.

You put it in your hair if you don’t have time to wash it, so it soaks up your hair’s oil.
It smells citrusy and wooooonderful!

This is Northern Lights soap, also by Lush:

Madison says it smells like Windex.
I disagree but I don’t know what to say it does smell like.
I just think it looks cool.

This is my new book, from Blake:

I have no idea what it’s about but I’m betting it’s awesome.

Little known fact about me (?), I collect quartz crystals.
I don’t think Lisa knows that, but she got me a couple.
These are all of my little ones.
I have a bunch of large crystal wands too, but these are my little ones:

The two on the bottom left are the new ones.
The bottom crystal is actually a rusty amethyst, which I also collect.
(She also gave me the tin.)

This one’s kinda neat because it’s cut for the express purpose of rubbing in your pocket with your thumb:

She gave me two other stones too, that are supposed to be for “healing” but I think that’s bunk so I gave them to Madison. Lisa also gave me a book on “nutritional healing” all about using vitamins and herbs to heal yourself but I think that’s bunk too and a little insulting, I think, considering the nature of my illness, so I don’t really know what to do with it. I’ll just smile and nod and say “thank you”. She got Blake some weird mustard that he’ll probably really enjoy, which is a first (usually he gets chocolate, which he doesn’t like), so he’s happy. I got him the new(est) Bastard Fairies EP.

This is my new crock pot recipe book.
I flagged a few recipes…

This is happening tomorrow:

And this is my favourite gift, from Madison, because it was the most thoughtful.

I *love* Atomic Fireballs and Lemon-Heads.
They’re made by the same company and are pretty much impossible to find up here.
Madison and Blake went to a specialty candy shop to get them.
The Whistle Pops I remembered from when I was little and I’d told Madison about them and she found them at this shop.
There are also “party snaps” in the box, which are those gun powder things you throw at the ground and they make a snapping sound.

This is Wes with the wolf toy that Lisa got him.
In case I haven’t mentioned it, he’s obsessed with wolves.

Here’s the lovely young lady of the house…

Here’s my beloved…

This is what he was drinking while he made mashed potatoes and gravy:

Gobble gobble, motherfuckers!

Mashed potatoes, whipped smooth…

An Xmas feast…

And finally, mooches…

Hoover has had a crusty nose ever since we switched him to diet dog food.
He’s lost weight, which the vet is happy about, and she’s not worried about his nose, so I’m choosing not to worry either.

And that was Xmas 2011.
It was a lot of fun, but I’m glad it’s over.
I think it’s time for tea and then bed.

How important to you is (scale of 1-10, 10 being “extremely important”):
1) morality of eating animals
2) morality of contributing to current factory farming system
3) impact of diet choices on environment
4) impact of diet choices on personal health

Me:
1) 5 or 6
2) 8
3) 3
4) 9

My friend Halcyon came up with this list and it’s currently being discussed on Anybeat. What do you think?

I think “morality of eating animals” should have been at the bottom of the list because there are many factors involved in answering that question – if you eat meat, at least – a lot of them having to do with the other three issues, so I’m going to answer issues 1, 2 and 4 first:

I hate factory farming. I don’t think anyone particularly likes it, except maybe those who make their money doing it, so I’m expecting this to be one of the highest on everyone’s list. I would love to not participate in the factory farming cycle and it would be a 10, if it were a matter of choice. I would even love to say that we try not to, but we don’t because we can’t. We live in a town of 2,000 people with one very tiny grocery store that gets almost all of its meat from factory farms. The only thing it doesn’t get from factory farms that I’ve seen are frozen “Cowboy Beef Burgers” and steaks which – I think – are manufactured locally (edit: they are). The next closest grocery stores are all 40 minutes away, but they all get their meat from factory farms as well.

We have two alterntive options, 1) the organic, cruelty free shop in town and 2) Blake has a friend who runs a small farm and we have the option of buying a half of a cow who ate grass its whole life and who was killed as humanely as possible. We can even come visit the cow from calf to butcher and “know our meat”. The organic shop is out of the question because our budget just doesn’t allow for it. His steaks are like, $15 a piece. For fillets we could get at the grocery store for $7 or $8 (which we can’t afford either, but we get sometimes). I don’t know about his chicken, I don’t really eat chicken, and Blake’s never really checked. I don’t believe he sells pork, but I could be wrong. His fruits and vegetables, which I would love to purchase because they’re guaranteed GMO-free, are equally expensive. I would love to support this man’s business because I believe in what he’s doing (and I can’t figure out how he’s still in business in this town) but we simply cannot afford to.

So that leaves option 2, the friendly farmer who has cows for sale; who raises his animals ethically and with love and who probably whispers a prayer with each one he kills, the way I understand it. Blake believes the last time he inquired about buying half a cow, which comes butchered in pieces (like steaks and roasts and ribs etc), individually wrapped and frozen, it was around $350 which is a REALLY good deal, but we don’t have $350 to just lay out all at once. We could save that money, yes, and we would if…we had a chest freezer. As it stands, we have just the fridge freezer and that’s certainly not going to fit half a cow. Chest freezers are expensive both to buy and both to run. If we could afford to buy one, we would, and we’d save the money for half a cow, but we can’t so we don’t have one. We would put it under the carport where there’s an outdoor hydro outlet and it would be protected from the rain and snow. One day we will do this, we really really want to, but today or next week or next month, is not the time.

Related, I would like to raise my own chickens not for meat, but for eggs. I think it would be fun, I like animals and it’s one less time we’d be supporting factory farming. I watched a video last week about where chicken nuggets came from and they touched on factory farmed eggs too and it was pretty revolting. I mean I knew the gist of how the eggs got to my plate, I’d read about it, but seeing bloody eggs in the egg tray of a factory farm is something I won’t soon forget. Seeing chicks having their beaks cauterized without anesthesia is something I won’t soon forget either. I’d like to say that since we live in farm country, we buy locally raised eggs, but we don’t. For $3/dozen it wouldn’t be worth our time and gas, which isn’t the nicest thing to admit to, but also farms don’t sell eggs by the dozen anymore. At least, I haven’t seen any signs on the side of the road saying so and we drive by a dozen farms on the way to the beach all summer.

As a further aside, it makes me absolutely crazy that the rest of my family eats chicken wings. I’ve asked Madison – because they’re her favourite food – if she knew that they came from baby chickens and she said yes, but she really didn’t care because they taste good. The exasperation I felt after having this short discussion with her is probably how vegans or vegetarians feel after most conversations about meat and animal products with omnivores times a thousand. (And I’m sure this post would drive most of them nuts too, my apologies.)

I don’t eat chicken wings (also because they’re gross). I don’t eat veal (also because it’s gross). I don’t eat foie gras (also because it’s gross). These are lines that I just wouldn’t cross, as hypocritical as they may be.

So that brings me to the “impact of diet choices on personal health”. I have always been (well, not as a kid) very concerned about my meals being as nutritious as possible but I’d be lying if I said it was as “extreme” as it is since I got sick this spring/summer. Traditionally I’ve been a junk food junkie, not caring what kind of ingredients were in my ketchup chips or what kind of oil my McDonald’s french fries were cooked in. The truth is, I still don’t care, I just eat a LOT less of that stuff. (Although I’ve been eating ketchup chips almost daily for the past two weeks because life sucks and that’s the only joy I have these days. I just don’t replace meals with junk food anymore.)

I’m paying more attention to things like portions; instead of having a steak half the size of my dinner plate and the other half buttery potatoes, I try and make sure that our dinners are more like meat being 1/4 of the size of the plate, same with potatoes and then the other 1/2 being a vegetable of some sort or a salad. Because of my extreme anemia, I’ve also been trying to make sure that my vegetable choices are things that “count” and that I’m eating a full serving with 2 out of 3 meals, at least, along with snacks which are often salad, apples or oranges or clementines. Also related, I have this handy dandy guide from Foodland Ontario that tells me what’s in season, and when, and I try to make sure we choose in season fruits and vegetables as much as we can. Certain things, like oranges, are never in season here, but they’re good for us and they prevent scurvy (okay that was a joke – sort of) so we get them anyway, but the rest we stick to as closely as we can. This means that our produce is (probably) GMO-free and that it leaves less of an environmental impact while also supporting local industry.

Because of my anemia and because it’s so bad now that I’ve required a blood transfusion within the last 6 weeks with talk of weekly infusions (which I’ve declined), the fact of the matter is that I need…blood. I need meat. It would be impossible for me to get my protein needs met with vegetables alone because I simply could not eat that much and there’s also the issue of haem/heme vs. non-haeme/heme iron. There are a lot of arguments either way (and please don’t link me to said arguments, I’ve read enough thank you), but it is said that veggie sources of iron are not as easily absorbed as read blood sources of iron and the fact of the matter is, my damn hair is falling out, so I’m not going to take my chances betting on veggies for my primary source of protein and iron. I get extremely sick of meat and would only like to eat it maybe twice a week but I have to eat it for 2 out of 3 meals a day, plus eggs for breakfast, plus a protein drink DAILY to meet my protein needs because I’m really really sick. Granted, I don’t manage to eat that well on a daily basis for a bunch of different reasons, but that’s even MORE reason for making the meals I do eat count! I don’t feel guilty about this because when it comes down to me or the cow, I’ll choose me every single time.

Do I feel guilty that I support factory farming for our family’s source of meat? Absolutely. Do I feel guilty about the morality of eating animals? I wouldn’t if it could be done humanely or if I could afford to buy cruelty-free meat. (I don’t consider killing a cow, in a humane way, cruel, although I admit that I’m not sure what a humane way of killing a cow would be.) Do I care about the environmental impact of my food choices? Not especially, which brings me to the last issue on the list.

Blake, who was a vegetarian for 9 years, says that if everyone in the world was a vegetarian, there wouldn’t be enough land for everyone to eat. I don’t know if that’s true or not (or if that’s even exactly what he said), but it’s always made me wonder about how much it really matters as far as what we eat and its effect on the environment. PETA would have me believe that raising meat is destroying the environment, but I’ve always thought we had bigger fish to fry in regards to our impact. Surely car factories and plastic factories and oil spills and fracking all have a bigger part to play in global warming and pollution. That’s not to say that we shouldn’t take everything into consideration and do what we can to not contribute to environmental issues, I just think it’s a lot easier to convince people that say, our dependence on oil is bad and we shouldn’t use it, than to change the entire planet’s dinner menus. And I’m pretty convinced that it would take a large majority of many countries to make a significant environmental impact. Of course I’m no scientist and the propaganda is just that, so it’s just a gut feeling that could be entirely wrong.

Again, this is not a debate, I’m just thinking out loud and sorting my own beliefs and opinions and wondering how they fit with yours. I respect everyone’s choices and I ask that you do the same if you’re going to comment. Try not to be insulting to your fellow man/woman, okay? I just think food is just a hugely personal thing and I don’t want anyone’s choices to feel attacked.

Anyway, that’s where I stand on Halcyon’s list. Feel free to comment or don’t, I’m cool either way.

Just thought I’d share! Again.

Today has really really sucked. First of all, I woke up at 4am with diarrhea. Again. And I decided that since I was up, I might as well eat an apple stick. To the uninitiated, an apple stick is this awesome apple pastry, like strudel, that comes in the shape of a tube about an inch & a half in diameter by about 6 or 7 inches in length with chunky sugar sprinkled on top. They are DELICIOUS and only available at one chain of stores here, which happens to be the type of grocery store we have here in town. The ones Blake bought me yesterday were baked yesterday so they are EXTRA DELICIOUS. So yeah, that? Was the highlight of my day. It was pretty much all downhill from there. Sort of. Bittersweet may be the better term, but when you wake up with urgent shits and fail to make the bathroom, and that trend continues throughout the day, it’s a little hard to be Miss Mary Sunshine.

A couple of weeks ago Blake got me salmon steaks from the big, good grocery store in Barrie that I love so much because it’s humongous and it has an actual meat counter, not just a tank of lobsters, not just a deli, but an honest to god meat counter with kickass steaks and kickass salmon steaks.

Blake bought two of them, which the butcher wrapped in butcher’s paper and I told Blake to freeze them without knowing they were wrapped together in butcher’s paper. I am the only person in this house who will eat fish (the kids will eat shrimp, according to my step-mom, but I’ve never seen it) because the kids don’t like it and Blake has a possible allergy to it where he doesn’t like it and it’s been known to give him the shits/make him throw up so he’s more or less avoided it his whole life so I was kinda pissed when I saw that he froze BOTH of them in the butcher paper when I have a hard time eating ONE, you can’t refreeze them after they’re thawed and you should eat them within a day of thawing naturally, immediately if defrosting in the nukrowave. So once I realized they were frozen together and spazzed on Blake, we asked the kids if they’d be interested in trying it and they said they would be, so we decided that in order for them to try it, I would pretty much have to wait until a weekend to have mine, which was fine.

Well today was that day.

As it turned out the steaks were individually wrapped in plastic inside the butcher’s paper so I basically spazzed on Blake for nothing (how was I supposed to know?) and much to my surprise, considering his lifelong aversion to all things that swim, when I asked him to cook them for me, he agreed and since he’s a million times better at cooking EVERYTHING than I am, he cooked them perfectly (just fried in olive oil with salt & pepper) and I absolutely loved mine. The kids weren’t so much fans, but they both tried it. Wes thought it was disgusting while Madison was more thoughtful about it (“good, but the aftertaste ruined it”) and much to my surprise again, Blake said he was going to try it. He said it tasted really good but at the end of his trial his gag reflex got set off, so he only had that one bite. He didn’t feel sick afterward though and he doesn’t have the shits to my knowledge so maybe with some practice we can get him eating salmon steaks with me because they are delicious and very very good for you.

After lunch we internetted for a while when suddenly I got it in my head that I NEEDED fizzy Skittles. I love fizzy Skittles. Hell, I love non-fizzy Skittles too. So Blake went to the store to get me fizzy Skittles and berry Skittles and a slush. A cherry slush.

So Blake got those and came home and then I sent him out to get pumpkins so we can carve them tomorrow and I can bake the seeds. The seeds make me poo fantastically so I’m very much looking forward to eating them. Not too firm, not too runny, just perfect poos. I highly recommend pumpkin seeds if you have any type of poo problem. As Blake (and Madison) were getting pumpkins, Wes and I were eating Skittles and I was washing them down with my slush.

This was a mistake.

Blake and Madison come home. I’m internetting and eating Skittles. Washing them down with slush. Blake started playing Arkham City and I got tired of eating Skittles so I put them away and continued my internetting for about half an hour, maybe 45 minutes. Then I started screaming for Blake to find my bowl (it was in my office) because I was dangerously close, without warning, to puking all over myself, my computer and the bed. He ran and got my bowl, I grabbed it and filled that thing within centimetres of the top.

My vomit tasted like cherry and Skittles and had the texture of salmon steak. It was the sickest thing I’ve thrown up so far. And I don’t know why I barfed it all up, I followed all the rules:

1. Eat things that aren’t very greasy. Check.
2. Eat them slowly. Check.
3. Eat small snacks, spaced out throughout the day. Check.

I’m even wearing that godawful <del>girdle</del> binder Dr. Hanrahan wants me to wear to keep my guts squished in and aligned. Blake picked it up this morning and it’s horrible. My waist isn’t long enough for the stupid thing so it’s either digging into my hips when I sit or digging into my underboobage. And the fucking thing was $50! If anyone would like to help us out with the expense of that because we’re down to one income and ran out of donated money about a month ago, there’s a donation button on the bottom right-hand corner of my site. I hate to sound like I’m begging and I’m not really, this was just an expense we weren’t prepared for at a time when there’s no money for extra expenses. And not that one has anything to do with the other but I’m going to thank everyone who donated before, here, because I’m on a lot of drugs and can’t remember if I already thanked everyone in a previous post while I was still in the hospital. I honestly have no idea how we would have gotten through until now without those donations.

Blah. I’ll shut up about money now. This post isn’t about money.

Tomorrow Blake’s going to look at the binder and see if we can use Madison’s pinking shears to take an inch & a half or so off of it so it’ll fit properly. My guts really hurt when it was first put on this morning but throughout the afternoon it started feeling…almost normal? I mean, it feels like I’m wearing a girdle but admittedly my guts hurt less with it on then without it. Without it I look about 6 months pregnant with a square baby because my guts have drifted out of place to either side of my abdomen, the binder brings them back to the middle and the goal is to keep wearing the binder until I have my wound/hernia surgery so it’s easier for Dr. Hanrahan to make me normal again.

Well, as normal as I get anyway. Physically normal.

No word from the pseudocyst surgeon yet. Waiting, waiting, waiting…I feel like that’s what my life has become. I am *SO* worried that if surgery and recovery (main surgery not the pseudocyst one) don’t happen soon enough I’ll lose my already slim shot at getting my job back. And I’m really really scared about what that means. I can’t just go out and get another job! And Blake’s been putting a lot of pressure on me to do everything in my power to get it back because we’re pretty much fucked if I don’t. And it would be really nice to not have that stress. I’ve never been able to contribute financially to the household by selling paintings because I don’t sell enough of them and I have no idea HOW to sell more of them. I feel like I’m doing everything I can already. It was nice having a job because that meant there was no pressure on me to paint what was profitable, I could paint what I wanted to, but now that’s gone.

Guh. This post is not about money. This post is not about money. This post is not about money.

Alex @replied me on Twitter tonight to tell me that it’s a really small friggin’ world. Siske, my nurse, has told me about her daughter many times before and as it turns out WE KNOW HER DAUGHTER. She’s really good friends with Ronny and Alex and we met her at their wedding! Weird, right? I can’t get over it! She never told me enough to put 2 + 2 together and chances are I wouldn’t have anyway because I’ve only met her daughter once, but it’s crazy to me all the same.

And speaking of Siske, she’s going to have my ass up early tomorrow morning to change my dressing so I should probably finish this post and go to bed. Before I do though, here are some pics from the bed, mostly of Pixel because I thought Phaedie would like them:

I took this pic because Madison claims these toys were sent by someone on the internet but neither of us can remember who or if that’s even true, so if you remember giving these to Madison, please let me know!

I have no idea what she’s doing in the above picture.

And in case you didn’t get enough Pixel today, here are a couple of videos. The first is Madison and Pixel being best friends and the second is Madison and Pixel playing with ribbon.

“And you don’t know how it feels,
You don’t know how it feels,
No you don’t know how it feels,
To be meeeeeeeeeee.”

- Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

So I’ve heard from Jen. Actually, let me back up a bit…On the suggestion of a couple of friends on Live Journal, I sent Jen the link to the post on Live Journal that was a duplicate of the one you’re reading now. I did this on Facebook. You can read the comments on the LJ post here, if interested. I chose to link her to that version of the post because that’s where most of the people were commenting, including my IRL best friend, Alex, whose life would also be affected by any decision I made in regards to this.

In the comments, my friend Charlie (woodoo24) and I exchanged these words with regards to simply sending her the link to the post:

Charlie: Meh…do you want a bunch of internet people jumping in her shit?

Sunny: Well, yes and no. Does she deserve that? Yes. Does she also deserve to tell her side of the story? Yes. Are we going to be friends at the end of this? I doubt it. But I think she deserves to know, especially considering that the last communication said something like “I know you hate me for some reason…”, indicating that she doesn’t know why we haven’t spoken in 2 years.

I dunno. I just dunno. People will only jump her shit if she lets them. She can read the post and talk to me privately afterward.

So I gave her the option to message me privately, which she did this evening. Because she took the option to message me privately, I’m going to extend that courtesy by not posting what she said on my site because if she wanted it on here, she would have commented.

Without going into too much detail, she confessed wholeheartedly to the guinea pig and really made no effort to pass the buck onto anyone else. She did say that her life had spiraled down pretty far by that point (which is true), with Carolyn being in the driver’s side and Jen in the back. When Carolyn said she knew what to do, Jen believed her because Jen was very much Carolyn’s follower. Knowing Jen’s personality, I believe this. At the same time, she was in the midst of breaking up with Jesse who may or may not have been already beginning his relationship with Patricia at the time (their roommate at the time, who Jesse is now engaged to), she was in massive debt and amassing more and more every time she turned around and as I said, things were tailspinning out of control.

That is NOT an excuse. That is an explanation. There is no excuse for what she did, which she recognizes, but what’s done is done and as long as she knows that what she and Carolyn did was majorly fucked up, I can accept the heartfelt apology she gave, not punish her for the rest of her life and be friends again.

YOU may not understand this, that’s okay, you don’t have to, but the message I got from Jen tonight was from a changed person and I believe her when she says it was never her intent to hurt the guinea pig. As she pointed out: “I’ve been a vegetarian since I was 12, I am now volunteering for Greenpeace, I climbed the CN tower earlier this year to raise money for The World Wildlife Fund.” This is not the profile of an animal abuser and I never thought she was one, I just thought this one incident was fucked up and until now, something I couldn’t forgive. But enough time has passed and as I said, she’s grown as a person since then (the old Jen would have blamed everything under the sun but herself), so I think slowly but surely we’re going to get back on track to being friends again. Like I said in my original post, I think that’s going to have to happen slowly though, because I have to be sure she’s not just putting on an act or lying to me or whatever. I have a pretty good bullshit detector and in the past I’ve let a lot of things slide with her, so that’s something *I’m* going to have to work on for this friendship to work.

I haven’t messaged her back yet, so she may see this post before I do, but she was “sick to [her] stomach” by all of your comments on both of the other posts so I think we’ve been successful in teaching her a lesson. Maybe it wasn’t our job to teach a lesson though, but maybe more like…we sent a message. And I think we have to be happy with that because I don’t think she’ll be irresponsible with a pet ever again – at least not while she’s friends with me. Oh and I’m happy to report that, “that puppy that Jesse and I got together is my entire world, she never goes without anything, she has a great home, she’s well trained, well groomed and the happiest little creature ever.“

I think everyone is deserving of a 2nd chance, but it’s conditional. They have to have learned something or grown from it and it appears as though Jen’s done both. Granted, what she did was monumentally stupid and yes, unforgivable for some people, but time can heal most wounds eventually and I think that’s where I am right now.

I understand that not everyone is going to “get” this and some people may even look down on me from now on because I’ve forgiven her and if that’s the case, so be it. We just have differing philosophies, I guess, different experiences. Like I said in my original post, who here among us hasn’t done something monumentally stupid whether they got caught or not, whether they admit to it or not? Hell, that’s Post Secret’s bread & butter. You can’t tell me you haven’t done something really dumb or mean or cruel and wished for forgiveness, if you haven’t already gotten it. And if you haven’t, well congratulations, you’re better than the rest of us, continue looking down your nose at us from your pedestal in the clouds.

She’s sorry.
She’s learned and grown from what she did.
That’s enough for me.
By tomorrow we will be friends again.

So now that that’s off my chest, guess what? I must have misread the scale when they weighed me in kg at the hospital. I weigh 113lbs according to the Wii Fit. Guess what else? Tonight I had spaghatta nadle for dinner, with domperidone 15 minutes before eating and not only did I keep it down (this being one of my triggery foods) but I didn’t even feel sick afterward. Also I looked domperidone up on Wikipedia a couple of days ago and read about how it can cause lactation, which made me realize where I’d heard the name before: Ana Voog bought some from the internet when she was having trouble breastfeeding her first child.

The domperidone hasn’t been perfect though. On Saturday afternoon I took some and had mini donuts from the fair, followed by fries and gravy and about 2 hours later, I hurled it all back up. I don’t know if I took the drug too late for it to have an effect (Blake brought home the donuts, I took a pill and ate the donuts – well, SOME of the donuts), then I had fries and gravy like, half an hour later or if it was the greasy food itself, which is technically on the bad list. At the same time, tomatoes are on the bad list too and my dinner tonight stayed down just fine. That was the 2nd time I threw up this week. Earlier in the week I barfed up a can of ginger ale, which made absolutely NO sense considering I was drinking half a case of that a day when I was in the hospital and never had any trouble with carbonation before. In fact carbonation, whether it’s ginger ale or a Coke, seems to settle my stomach so wtf? I guess it’s just a mystery.

Okay I think I’m going to go see if Blake wants to watch Who the Fuck is Jackson Pollock? in my office while I work on my sketchbook, which is coming along nicely. I think I may actually have it done by deadline! Imagine that!

Goodnight internets. I hope you still like me tomorrow.

PS. Jen is no longer friends with Carolyn. They haven’t been friends for about a year.
