Oooer, I likey! Where do you get your mulberry papers? I have such a hard time finding them these days…
The mulberry paper I used for this one I just got at Michael’s. It’s actually cardstock with mulberry paper glued to each side with the light colour on one side and a darker version of the same colour on the other side. Traditionally though, I get mulberry paper on eBay, but it’s no good for these paintings because it’s fairly translucent once it’s glued down and the glitter would likely show through. It’s also kind of hard to work with because it’s so flimsy. You CAN “feather” it though, which is really nice for card-making and stuff like that. All you do is wet the paper with a brush like, along a straight line (I use a ruler), then carefully pull the paper apart. It’s a cool effect.
I saw that card stock at Michaels, but I’d only ever used the thinner paper & like the way it feathers & tears, so I was hesitant to invest in the thicker stuff. Now that I hear what you have to say, I’m gettin me some next time I’m there. My stash & I thank you ;) I never thought ta look for paper on Ebay…ruh roh raggy, this could git ugly!
