My main concern isn't the acid but the sugar and my highest priority when this happens is getting back to sleep as fast as possible. If there's half a can of Coke Zero in the fridge that's gonna be flat by the time I wake up anyway, that's what I'm going to drink.

I feel it necessary to point out the following:

In most cases, being thirsty is your body's way of telling you that it needs water. Not Coke Zero. There are some instances in which being thirsty is a sign of something more serious, such as diabetes, or a reaction from specific medications, but regardless of the reason behind it, drinking something that dehydrates you won't solve the problem.

The acid level in orange juice is actually a bit lower than the amount in Coke Zero. It can vary from brand to brand, but ultimately, one is not significantly better than the other for your teeth. If that were really your concern, you could wait a half an hour after drinking and brush your teeth.

Choosing to drink something that makes you physically ill, inhibits weight loss, and does the opposite of what your body is telling you it needs, based on not wanting to wake up to go to the bathroom (as well as the other random excuses which you have listed), pretty much indicates how interested you are in actually being healthy.
