Be. Divine.
So, as I may have mentioned, I’m currently doing Suzi Blu’s “Be. Divine.” class, which is all about goddesses. As a part of the class, we’re making goddess art journals. I posted the cover of mine a couple of weeks ago.
Currently our assignment is to make pages for a few goddesses we relate to, but I’m having trouble relating to any of them so I’m behind. Here’s the first assignment though, click on any of them to enlarge:
Admittedly, these pages are not my best work, but I think the point of the exercise is more to “get it done” than “make it pretty”. I mean, it’s both, but I think getting it done and just DOING the exercise is the more important goal.
Unfortunately all I could afford to use for this journal was a plain old spiral notebook, so I’ve been gluing 3 or 4 pages together to make a more sturdy surface to work on, but being thin paper, the pages have all wrinkled as I’ve gotten them all wet. That’s okay though, I don’t mind.
Anyway, that’s what I’ve been working on over the past little while. I’ve also been working on a new painting that I’m sort of stuck on. It’s a girl, as they all seem to be these days, and I’m at the stage where I should be making her arms but that’s the WORST part of any painting I do, I hate doing them, so I’ve been putting it off and she’s been sitting on my coffee table, armless, for about a week & a half now.
I think today I’m going to get Blake to help me clean off my desk because it’s a mess and I don’t have enough room to work on the piece that’s in process (it’s 20 x 16) and then while my girl’s arms are drying, I’m going to start working on the paintings I’m going to be doing for Madison and my sister for Xmas. My sister’s is going to be pink and Madison’s is going to be purple and I think they’re both going to say “Believe”, I haven’t decided yet. They’re just going to look like the ones I’ve been doing for everybody else recently, and small, 8 x 8. I think Raili’s is going to have silver glitter and Madison’s is going to have gold.
You care, I can tell.
Anyway, that’s my update for today. I hope you’re all having a lovely Sunday!

Yes, “textibitionism” is a word I came up with a few years ago to describe “what I do”. There’s more info about it in the FAQ. :o)
How I wish to be part of the Goddess class but alas I wasn’t able to enroll. I love your journal pages they are very insightful.
Awww that sucks Danielle. I know some people have gotten in late, even though registration’s closed. Maybe e-mail Suzi about it?
I adore your art and journaling…..you are a GODDESS….I am way behind because of being down in bed and ill….some day I’ll be better….and I can’t wait….my art is calling to me to come play. Keep going….I’m inspired by you.
